THE GUIDED HUNT EXPERIENCE

More Than a Walk Through the Field.

A great guided hunt is about more than putting birds in front of the gun.

It's watching good dogs work, reading the cover, creating opportunities, and enjoying the entire experience from the first cast to the last retrieve.

Whether you're an experienced upland hunter or stepping into the field for the first time, we'll meet you where you are and help create a hunt that's enjoyable, safe, and memorable.

You don't need to know everything before you show up. That's part of what having a guide is for.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your Hunt. Your Pace.

Hunt Behind Trained Dogs

Hunt over trained bird dogs while seeing firsthand how they search, point or flush, retrieve, and work with their handler in real hunting situations.

A Hands-On Guide

From reading the dogs and approaching birds to field safety and making the most of opportunities, you'll have someone there to help throughout the hunt.

Hunts for All Experience Levels

First hunt or hundredth hunt—we'll adjust the pace and experience to the hunters in the field.

A Day Built Around the Experience

We're not interested in rushing through birds just to fill a limit. The dogs, the hunt, the people, and the time spent outdoors are all part of the day.

WHERE WE HUNT

Great Hunts Start With Great Ground.

Lonesome Willow guided hunts are offered through select upland hunting preserves where we guide throughout the season.

Instead of trying to make every hunt look the same, we'll help connect you with the preserve and hunting experience that best fits what you're looking for.

HUNT WITH YOUR DOG

Put the Training to Work.

For many owners, the best part of training a bird dog is finally getting to experience a real hunt together.

For appropriate dogs and hunting situations, we can guide you over your own dog. We'll help you navigate the hunt, read your dog in the field, and put the skills you've been building together into a real hunting environment.

BEFORE WE HIT THE FIELD

A Few Things to Know.

  • Hunts take place at participating upland preserves.

  • Preserve availability and bird packages vary by location.

  • Hunters must meet applicable licensing and preserve requirements.

  • Hunt details are coordinated around preserve availability, group size, and your goals for the hunt.

  • Dogs are selected based on the hunt, conditions, and group.

  • Bringing your own dog must be arranged in advance.

Not sure what to bring?
